Sistemas del
Orbe, S.A. was founded in 1993 as a division of Componentes el Orbe,
S.A., to offer analysis, design and development of application software,
area that was not covered by Componentes el Orbe. Because Componentes
el Orbe specialized on AS-400 platforms, initially financial/administrative
applications where developed in RPG400 exclusively for IBM platforms.
Afterwards, software application systems were developed for Windows
NT, SQL server and others due to the demand of our clients.
In 1997, Sistemas del Orbe, S.A. is named (by
Hitachi Ltd.) as integrators of the area (Central America) for the
MONDEX project initiated by Credomatic in Costa Rica. For this project,
software was developed by Sistemas del Orbe to communicate MONDEX
devices and the AS-400 owned by Credomatic.
In 1998 Sistemas del Orbe is registered as an
anonymous firm becoming an independent business.
In 2001 the University of Edinburgh chooses
Sistemas del Orbe, S.A. to be the developer for animal/crops information/integration
software.
